The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants sets standards for auditing and reporting practices, prepares and grades the national certified public accountant (CPA) exams, conducts research, develops continuing education programs, and supervises CPA practice. The institute also maintains over 100 committees that work in areas such as accounting and review services, federal taxation, professional ethics, and information technology. The organization produces many publications, including Accounting Trends and Techniques, CPA Client Bulletin, and CPA Examinations.
